The Who have released "the world's first-ever digital box set" with their Tommy app.

The app gives users the chance to listen to the first five tracks of Tommy for free, along with a free first chapter of Richard Barnes' book on the album, with an in-app purchase option for the rest of the book.

It also includes five live videos from the Live At The Coliseum '69 concert (including "See Me Feel Me"), samples of the remaining album tracks, a pinball game based on the band's NYC Metropolitan Opera House 1970 concert poster, and original artwork for the album by Mike McInnerney.

The app (and all in-app purchases) can be downloaded on iTunes; it is compatible with Apple smart phones and tablets.
