An index measuring the construction sector in Australia came in with a score of 55.2 in November, the latest survey from the Australia Industry Group revealed on Friday.
That's up from 54.4 in October - which was the first reading since May 2010 to show expansion with a score over 50.
Among the individual components, new orders jumped 4.2 points to 58.5, while employment shed 2.2 points to 50.3 and deliveries surged 5.9 points to 57.9.
