ABC has reportedly picked up a new series from "American Hustle" director David O. Russell. The new soap opera style series will reportedly give an "upstairs/downstairs" look at life in a swanky country club and is headed directly to series.
Russell has teamed up with "Erin Brockovich" writer Susannah Grant and will mark a collaboration between CBS Studios and the ABC Network. The new series will mark Russell's first foray into television and comes amidst an extraordinary hot streak on the big screen for the "Silver Linings Playbook" and "The Fighter" helmer.
"American Hustle" continues his run of Oscar nods, raking in a total of ten this year including "Best Picture." Speaking with Deadline.com of his current run of success, Russell admitted: "I don't know if you could ever force it to happen again."
