Yahoo will gradually stop permitting users to enjoy their online services by logging in with Facebook or Google IDs, according to reports.

Reports indicate Yahoo will eventually remove the option to log in to its services using Facebook and Google login IDs, starting with "Yahoo Sports Tourney Pick 'Em," a service focused on college basketball. The web portal will ask users who want to use photo sharing site Flickr and other Yahoo services to create a new Yahoo ID.

Yahoo's Chief Executive Marissa Mayer has been transforming Yahoo since she took over the reins in June 2012. Under Mayer, Yahoo revamped its photo sharing site Flickr and Yahoo Mail service. The latest change is also according to Yahoo's principle on "improving the user experience," which will enable it "offer the best personalized experience to everyone".

Google also follows the same strategy, all its services including YouTube, Gmail, Google+ and Google Drive can be accessed by using one Google account but users cannot use another service ID to log on to Google.
