Paul McCartney has confirmed that he has plans to compose the music for a new animated feature. He revealed the news during an interview with a California public radio station but did not reveal the title of the film or the timeline.
He was calling in to the station to thank listeners for supporting his most recent release New, and said of the new project: "It's like being a kid getting to play with some of the most creative people in the world."
Interviewer Sky Daniels later told listeners he was "holding back tears" while conducting the interview:
"When Paul McCartney's friends sing the praises of [the station] and he feels compelled to listen and reach out to say thanks," he said.
"It validates the support of our members and the hard work of our staff. It really is a statement that radio can still touch hearts and minds, even those of the greatest songwriter of our time."
