At 5.30 am ET Wednesday, the Bank of England's minutes of the monetary policy meeting in March and U.K. labor market statistics for February were released.
After these reports, the pound climbed further against other major currencies.
The pound was trading at 1.6634 against the greenback, 0.8361 against the euro, 1.4558 against the franc and 169.01 against the yen around 5:32 am ET.
