Garth Brooks' lawyers sent a cease-and-desist letter to Louisville, KY radio station 103.9 after it switched its format and call letters. The country station became GARTH-FM playing, in its words, "the whole Garth and nothing but the Garth."
After getting word from Brooks' lawyers, the station replaced the call letters with 'X's but continued to play the country legend's music.
"Our Programming team is currently behind closed doors determining the evolution of our radio station," said Program Director Todd Schumacher. "We don't have a solution now, but we will soon. Tune in Monday morning at 7am to hear the debut of the new 103.9. In the meantime, enjoy more music from one of country music's greatest artists."
By Monday, 103.9 had switched its ID to The Hawk. The station is now playing a mix of 90s hits.
