Capitol Records has announced that it will release the Beatles' five original Japanese albums in a mini-LP box set. The recordings come from the Fab Four's approved 2009 masters; it is the first time they've been released to CD.

The set includes Meet the Beatles!, The Beatles' Second Album, A Hard Day's Night, Beatles No. 5 and Help!, as well as a 100-page booklet and assorted memorabilia re-creations.

A ccording to the press release, the re-issues "faithfully replicates the original Japanese album artwork, including OBI and inner sleeve."

Meet the Beatles! and The Beatles' Second Album come in mono while the other three come in stereo.

Pre orders are available now at Amazon where the set retails for $118.98 with free shipping.
