Larsen & Toubro Ltd said its construction arm L&T Construction had bagged contracts totaling Rs.1,423 crore across various business segments in September 2014.
Heavy Civil Infrastructure Business:
The Heavy Civil Infrastructure Business has secured an order for Rs.631 crore from the Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. for the construction of the Lucknow Metro. L&T's scope includes construction of the priority section (Package LKCC 01) in the North South Corridor - 8.5 km elevated viaducts and 8 elevated stations. The project is scheduled to be completion n 24 months.
Lucknow would be the eighth city in India in which L&T will execute a mass rail transit system after Delhi, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Kochi metros and the Mumbai monorail.
Power Transmission & Distribution Business:
The Power Transmission & Distribution Business has won three major orders including additional orders from on-going jobs worth Rs.792 crore.
A turnkey order was received from the Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (PGCIL) for the supply, erection, testing and commissioning of a 765kV S/C transmission line between Lalitpur to Agra (Part-III) in Uttar Pradesh. The contract was for supply of 765kV EHV towers, insulator hardware materials and other transmission accessories. The order has to be completed in 20 months.
Another order has been bagged from the Himachal Pradesh Transmission Corporation Ltd. for the design, engineering, supply and construction of a 400/220/33kV gas insulated switchgear substation at Lahal in the Chamba District of Himachal Pradesh. The contract involves commissioning of 400kV and 220kV gas switchgear, 220/400kV auto transformers, control relay panels, substation control system, fibre optic terminal equipment, auxiliary power system, construction of GIS and construction of the control room along with other associated civil works.
The business also received an order from the North Bihar Power Distribution Ltd. for the supply, erection, testing and commissioning of 33/11kV power distribution network. The work, funded by the Rural Electricity Corporation Ltd., was for augmenting rural electricity infrastructure and household electrification under the XII Plan of RGGVY scheme of prospective consumers in Bihar's Muzaffarpur district.
At the BSE, Larsen & Toubro shares are currently trading at Rs.1,491.00, up 1.60 percent from the previous close.
