Choice Hotels Q3 Profit Tops Estimates - Quick Facts

Choice Hotels International, Inc. (CHH) reported that its third-quarter income from continuing operations, net of income taxes, increased to $39.42 million or $0.67 per share from $38.57 million or $0.65 per share, last year.

On average, 12 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report profit per share of $0.63 for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Total revenues decreased to $215.17 million from $216.72 million, a year ago. Analysts expected revenue of $228.04 million for the quarter.

Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) from franchising activities for the three months ended September 30, 2014 totaled $74 million, an increase of 8 percent from the same period of 2013.

The company expects fourth-quarter EPS to be $0.34. The company expects full-year 2014 EPS to range between $1.99 and $2.02. EBITDA for full-year 2014 are expected to range between $216 million and $219 million. Analysts expect the company to report fourth-quarter earnings per share of $0.38, and full year earnings per share of $1.96.
