U2's Bono hooked up with guitar maker Gretsch to make a custom axe for his Global Fund to AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria charity. Five percent of the sales from each Electromatic Center-Block Bono Signature Model will benefit the charity.

"The (GRETSCH)RED guitar is a guitarist's dream, and the reality is that every time someone buys one, it's raising money to fight Aids," said Bono of the guitar.

"That money can buy life-saving medicine for pregnant mothers living with HIV, and prevent their babies being born with the virus. They're the same pills that will help deliver an Aids Free Generation."

The guitar features a bound arched maple top with bound sound holes, as well as maple sides and an arched back, a maple neck and a 22-fret bound rosewood fingerboard.
