SigmaTel Inc. (SGTL) announced that Phillip Pompa has been appointed president and chief executive officer, effective immediately. Pompa was elected interim CEO in January 2007, upon the resignation of Edgerton. He previously served as a senior vice president of two SigmaTel business units, the Portable Systems Group and the Integrated Components Group. Prior to joining SigmaTel, Pompa served as Vice President of Marketing for Advanced Micro Devices Inc."The board believes Phil's broad experience and contributions to the company are recognized inside and outside of SigmaTel," said Osborne, Chairman of the Board of Directors.
