John Fogerty paid a visit to The Late Show With David Letterman in order to lend his talents to the week-long farewell to legendary show host David Letterman.

Fogerty took to the stage to perform a medley of his hits, including "Travelin' Band," "Proud Mary" and "Fortunate Son."

The musician's appearances on The Late Show date back to 1986, when Letterman challenged Fogerty to appear on the show. He showed up, and performed "Proud Mary" with Letterman's house band. The singer also appeared multiple times in 2013 while promoting his album Wrote a Song For Everyone.

Letterman will step down from the Late Show desk on May 20, ending a 30 plus year career that started on the set of NBC's Late Night With David Letterman. Letterman will be replaced by Stephen Colbert in September.
