Consumer goods company Jarden Corp. (JAH) is close to acquiring Waddington Group Inc., a maker of disposable cups, plates and plastic utensils, in a $1.35 billion deal, Bloomberg reported.
The report said that Jarden has agreed on the terms with Olympus Partners, the private equity owner of Waddington, and a deal may be announced as early as Monday. Jarden beat out other bidders in the last few days.
Jarden had approached Olympus about buying Waddington more than three months ago, before the private equity owner started an auction, the report said.
