Dr. Dre is prepping the release of the upcoming NWA biopic, Straight Outta Compton, according to former NWA member Ice Cube, who dished to Philly radio station Power 99.
The new film, directed by F. Gary Gray, will feature a companion album of new music by Dre, added Cube.
"Dre is dropping an album inspired by the Compton movie. He's dropping something on August 1. It's mega, it's Dr. Dre, it's what everybody's been waiting for," added Cube. "It's definitely a dope record, and he's dropping it all on the same day."
Cube also addressed rumors that Eminem would fill in for the late Eazy E on a NWA reunion tour.
"We've definitely been talking about it. It's just really about promotors coming to the table and we put together something that works for everybody. It's definitely, definitely possible."
The Straight Outta Compton OST will also feature contributions from Kendrick Lamar, Eminem and more.
