An 8-year-old girl in Centerville, Utah, has been diagnosed with a rare type of breast cancer known as secretory carcinoma, after a lump was noticed in her chest last month.
The girl, Chrissy Turner, has become the youngest ever to receive a breast cancer diagnosis. Both her parents are cancer survivors.
Her mother Annette Turner suffered from cervical cancer, and her father is suffering from a Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma relapse.
According to Chrissy's doctors, her secretory carcinoma diagnosis accounts for only 0.15 percent of breast cancers. It is very much treatable.
Chrissy will undergo a mastectomy next month. The family has set up a GoFundMe page to support for the treatment.
