New Zealand Food Prices Gain 0.5% In March

Food prices in New Zealand were up 0.5 percent on month in March, Statistics New Zealand said on Wednesday - in line with expectations following the 0.5 percent decline in February.

Fruit and vegetable prices rose 1.9 percent on month, while meat, poultry, and fish prices fell 0.2 percent.

On a yearly basis, food prices dipped 0.1 percent - also unchanged from the previous month.

Fruit and vegetable prices climbed 3.6 percent on year, while meat, poultry, and fish prices fell 0.6 percent.
