Josh Turner has released "Hometown Girl," the lead single off of his upcoming sixth studio album. The new release is Turner's first single in nearly 18 months.

"I need me a little homegrown, hometown girl," he sings on the new track. "I've been lookin' all over the world for a pretty little hometown girl."

"The first time I heard 'Hometown Girl' I was excited," Turner said in a statement. "First of all, it sounded like a hit to me. It just had that chorus and vibe that held your attention and didn't lose you. Honestly, it was different for me and that was kind of what I was looking for."

Turner last released Punching Bag, his fifth studio album, in 2012. The album debuted at number four on the Billboard 200 and number one on the Top Country Albums chart, selling 45,000 copies in its first week.
