Red Hot Chili Peppers paid homage to their fellow Los Angeles contemporaries, by covering one of their tunes. At the Chicago Lollapalooza festival, Chili Peppers guitarist Josh Klinghoffer performed a solo rendition of "I Would For You" before segueing into their own hit "Under the Bridge."
Jane's Addiction first released "I Would For You" off of their eponymous live album in May of 1987. The song is one of the few original tunes on the live album that has not been re-recorded for a later release.
Jane's Addiction lead singer Perry Farrell conceived and created the Lollapalooza festival in 1991. The festival has primarily been an alternative rock festival, but has also featured punk, metal, hip-hop acts, among other genres.
