Frank Ocean's long awaited new release Blonde has debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart. The album follows his debut release Channel Orange and left fans exasperated and mildly catatonic with expectation ahead of its August 20 release.
The release shipped 276,000 equivalent album units (232,000 traditional) in its first week out, smashing Drake's Views to second place with 77,000. The number sales figures come even after a leak left the release illegally downloaded almost 800,000 times earlier this month.
In addition to the strong initial sales week, Blonde did well on the streaming services landing 65 million.
