Common has weighed in on the first presidential debate between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton, according to Rap-Up.com.

The rapper stopped by the daytime talk show The Views on Tuesday, September 27 to make some observations about the debate.

"Donald Trump is just not prepared to be a president," Common said. "He's not that type of person that should be a president. I thought Hillary Clinton — I could see her experience."

This was the first time Common had watched a presidential debate.

"It revealed everything," he said. "It made me sad about America that we have people who really believe in what [Trump's] saying 'cause what is he saying?"

Common also spoke about how he supports Colin Kaepernick's, the NFL player who refused to stand during the national anthem as a protest against police brutality.

"I truly relate to what Colin Kaepernick is doing," Common said. "He's standing up for justice. He sees things going wrong with our country and we all see it. For people to ignore it, we're not doing our duty as Americans, as children of God. The courage he's showing is phenomenal."
