Job advertisements in Australia decreased in September, after rebounding in the previous month, latest survey from the Australian and New Zealand Banking Group revealed Tuesday.

Total job ads fell a seasonally adjusted 0.3 percent month-over-month in September, in contrast to a 1.7 percent climb in August.

Annual growth in job ads eased markedly to 3.7 percent in September from 8.0 percent in the preceding month.

"The fall is consistent with some loss of momentum in labor markets this year, and more recently, in surveyed business conditions. It is also consistent with the RBA's business liaison which reported that some firms had taken a more cautious approach towards hiring," Felicity Emmett, ANZ head of Australian Economics, said.
