Final demand producer prices in Australia advanced 0.3 percent on quarter in the third quarter of 2015, the Australian Bureau of Statistics said on Friday - following the 0.1 percent gain in Q2.

The gains were mainly due to rises in the prices received for other agriculture which includes bananas, beans and tomatoes (+8.3 percent), sheep, beef cattle and grain farming; and dairy cattle farming (+11.9 percent) and electricity supply, gas supply and water supply, sewerage and drainage services (+1.7 percent).

They were partly offset by falls in the prices received for petroleum refining and petroleum fuel manufacturing (-5.5 percent), computer and electronic equipment manufacturing (-1.9 percent) and cigarette and tobacco product manufacturing (-5.0 percent).

On a yearly basis, prices were up 0.5 percent after rising 1.0 percent in the three months prior.

The gains were mainly due to rises in the prices received for electricity supply, gas supply and water supply, sewerage and drainage services (+1.2 percent), sheep, beef cattle and grain farming; and dairy cattle farming (+4.3 percent) and legal and accounting services (+1.2 percent).

They were partly offset by falls in the prices received for computer and electronic equipment manufacturing (-2.5 percent), electrical equipment manufacturing (-1.8 percent) and polymer product manufacturing (-1.7 percent).

Preliminary demand prices gained 0.6 percent on quarter and 0.1 percent on year.
