India's industrial production recovered in September, data from the Central Statistics Office revealed Friday.

Industrial production rose 0.7 percent year-on-year in September, offsetting prior month's 0.7 percent fall. Nonetheless, the pace of growth was weaker than the expected 1 percent increase.

Within total production, manufacturing and electricity output grew 0.9 percent and 2.4 percent, respectively. Meanwhile, mining output fell 3.1 percent.

During April to September, industrial production edged down 0.1 percent from the corresponding period of last year.
