Japan's industrial production remained unchanged in October instead of an increase estimated initially, final figures from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry said on Wednesday.

Shipments grew 2.0 percent over the month, corrected from a 2.2 percent increase seen in the flash data. At the same time, inventories dropped 2.1 percent, confirming the preliminary figure.

On a yearly basis, industrial production declined 1.4 percent in October, reversing a 1.5 percent climb in the prior month.

Data also revealed that the capacity utilization rose 1.4 percent monthly in October, in contrast to a 2.0 percent fall in September.
