Today's word is FUD .
A common slang in crypto forums, it's gaining more popularity. FUD simply means "fear, uncertainty and doubt". Misinformation will be spread deliberately with the intention of feeding it into the overall market sentiment.
Such misinformation would be usually spread through comments in crypto discussion forums on reddit and other social media. Some comments made by personalities on TV can also be treated as FUD.
If someone says Bitcoin is a bubble that is going to burst soon, then they are spreading FUD .
Similarly, spreading rumors regarding a hack at a crypto exchange and those regarding a government banning bitcoin are also FUD .
