Brad Paisley took a moment during his recent show in Bristow, Virginia to pay tribute to the late John McCain, who passed away recently after a battle with brain cancer.
Paisley projected a photo of McCain on the stage after performing the song "When I Get Where I'm Going." He also posted about McCain on Instagram, writing: "We lost an American hero today. Thank you for your service to our country, and your bravery, Sen. McCain."
Other artists, including Tim McGraw and Lady Antebellum's Hillary Scott, also posted to social media this weekend to pay tribute to him. "A true American Hero and patriot," McGraw said of McCain. "We may not have agreed on everything but he's a better man than I could hope to be. Such a needed voice right now. His voice still rings." Scott wrote, "Prayers for the McCain family and all who love him."
