Eric Church has dropped his new song "Monsters," the latest release from his upcoming album Desperate Man.

In the song, Church warns against real-life dangers or monsters we all face in real life, both as a child and as a adult. "The wolf hunts a hungry man and the devil a lonely heart / A minefield of bad decisions lay hidin' in the dark," he sings. "I've learned that the monsters ain't the ones beneath the bed," he adds in chorus.

"Monsters" is the seventh track that Church has teased or released from his upcoming album Desperate Man.

Church had earlier released the song "Heart Like a Wheel," in its entirety, as well as the album's title track. Desperate Man was produced by Jay Joyce. The record is due out on October 5. The album will also feature the songs "Some of It" and "Hangin' Around."

"We've had a lot of hit songs. But I hope 'different' is a word for me," Church told Rolling Stone in an interview in July. "If you look at our writing and what we've recorded, I hope people go, 'Man, that guy did it his own way.'?"
