Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross have released the score to Netflix's hit film Bird Box.
Bird Box is a post-apocalyptic thriller movie based on a novel by Josh Malerman. It stars Sandra Bullock and John Malkovich. It focuses on a mysterious force that makes people who look at it commit suicide. Bullock plays Malorie, a woman who attempts to flee to safety with her two children.
"Our score for the film Bird Box is now available for purchase in high-resolution here. The same version is available on streaming services here," a statement from Nine Inch Nails' website reads.
"Like all soundtrack records we release, we aim for these to play like albums that take you on a journey and can exist as companion pieces to the films and as their own separate works."
"We created a significant amount of music and conceptual sound for Bird Box - a lot of which never made it to your ears in the final version of the film. We've decided to present you with this version of the soundtrack record that represents what Bird Box is to us. We hope you enjoy."
Both Reznor and Ross previously won the Academy Award for Best Original Score for The Social Network in 2010. In 2013, the pair won a Grammy Award for Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media for their soundtrack to The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.
The duo have also worked on Gone Girl, Patriots Day and documentaries Before the Flood and The Vietnam War.
