Earlier this week, former drummer of The Cure, Andy Anderson died of terminal cancer at the age of 68.

"Andy Anderson was a true gentleman and a great musician with a wicked sense of humor which he kept until the end, a testament to his beautiful spirit on the last journey. We are blessed to have known him," tweeted Lol Tolhurst, former bandmate and founding member of The Cure, confirming the sad news.

The news comes after Anderson made his prognosis public only two weeks ago.

"Hi guy's, I am and I have Terminal 4 Cancer, and their is no way of returning back from that, it's totally covering the inside of my body, and I'm totally fine and aware of my situation," he wrote in a long post to Facebook.

Anderson joined The Cure in 1983 after original drummer, Tolhurst, switched to the keyboard.

In his long career, he worked with several independent artists and bands, including Jeffrey Lee Pierce, Isaac Hayes, Iggy Pop and Two-Bit Thief, among others.
