MTV Reveals Video Music Award Nominations

The nominees for MTV's 36th annual Video Music Awards have been announced, with the biggest names in the game garnering up to 10 nominations.

Pop queens Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande each received 10 nominations between Swift's colorful "ME!" & "You Need To Calm Down" and Grande's powerful video for her smash hit, "thank u, next."

Newcomers Billie Eilish and Lil Nas X scored 9 and 8 nominations, respectively.

The most coveted award of the night, Video of the Year, included nominations for Grande's "thank u, next," Eilish's "bad guy," Swift's "You Need to Calm Down," Lil Nas X's "Old Town Road (Remix)," "Sucker" by the Jonas Brothers and "a lot" by 21 Savage & J. Cole.

This year's awards will also see the introduction of the brand-new category of Best K-pop, with the nominees including the widely-celebrated K-pop groups, BTS and Blackpink, among others.

Set to take place at the Prudential Center in New Jersey on Monday, August 26, voting for this year's VMA has already begun at http://www.mtv.com/vma.
