Lil Nas X's "Old Town Road" has become the fastest song in history to be certified diamond.
Columbia Records announced that "Old Town Road," featuring Billy Ray Cyrus, was certified diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America.
The diamond certification is bestowed to albums or singles that sell at least 10,000,000 units. Other artists who have achieved this feat include Elton John, Imagine Dragons, Florida Georgia Line, Bruno Mars, Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, and Eminem.
Following the news, Lil Nas took to Twitter to celebrate the milestone. "OLD TOWN ROAD IS OFFICIALLY DIAMOND!! ??????????" he tweeted.
"Old Town Road" is the first song to be certified diamond by the RIAA in 2019 and is the fastest in history to reach this milestone.
In July, "Old Town Road" broke the record for the most consecutive weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100 chart, ruling the chart for 19 weeks in a row.
