The Killers have broken the record for the longest break between singles to reach No. 1 on Billboard's Alternative Songs Airplay chart.
The band, whose most recent single, "Caution," climbed from the 2nd position to the 1st on the chart dated April 25, previously achieved the same feat in October of 2006, when their song, "When You Were Young" reigned the chart for 2 weeks.
The previous record-holder was American singer-songwriter Beck, whose No. 1 songs "E-Pro" (2005) and "Up All Night" (2017) saw a gap of 12 years, 8 months and two weeks.
"Caution" has also achieved the feat of having risen to the top in the quickest amount of time in the past year.
Meanwhile, the band is gearing up to release their 6th studio album, titled Imploding the Mirage, on May 29, 2020.
