Country singer Brantley Gilbert has released a cover of the late Charlie Daniles' "Long Haired Country Boy" as a tribute to the legend, who passed away last week at the age of 83.
"Charlie Daniels is a legend of country music.... Put together this cover with @jessebfranklin to honor the man he was and the music he made," Gilbert wrote alongside the 3-minute clip. "Both will inspire me forever.... RIP Charlie Daniels."
Gilbert collaborated with guitarist Jesse Franklin to create the cover, which was recorded by his tour photographer and filmmaker Brian Vaughan, whom he also tagged in the caption.
Daniels, whose most popular and widely beloved song, "The Devil Went Down to Georgia," was released a few years after the release of "Long Haired Country Boy" in 1974, passed away after suffering from a fatal hemorrhagic stroke on Monday, July 6.
