A team of A-list artists gathered to celebrate the life of the late politician and civil-rights leader John Lewis, who passed away at the age of 70 on July 17, 2020.

In a prime time CBS special titled "John Lewis: Celebrating a Hero," which was hosted by Oprah Winfrey, celebrities of the likes of Brad Pitt, Tyler Perry, Trevor Noah, and Gayle King delivered moving tributes to the late icon.

R&B singer Jennifer Hudson opened the round of performances by belting out a powerful rendition of the Simon & Garfunkel song, "Bridge Over Troubled Water" from the rooftop of her home in Chicago, while John Legend and Common performed their Grammy and Oscar-winning collaboration, "Glory."

Other artists who were featured in the special include Yolanda Adams, Billy Porter, and Jon Batiste.
