Thomas Rhett has teamed up with the President/CEO of Big Machine Label Group Scott Borchetta to donate a total of $100,000 to the MusiCares Coronavirus Relief Fund.

Recording Academy Chair and Interim President/CEO Harvey Mason Jr. and MusiCares Executive Director Laura Segura were surprised by the announcement, which was made through a video conference attended by all four aforementioned parties.

"Thank y'all so much for everything y'all are doing," Rhett said in the video. "The fact that y'all are helping people pay mortgages and hospital bills, I commend y'all so highly for that."

"Hopefully we can get a lot more on board this train to continue to give and continue to help out our people," he added.

Mason Jr. thanked them for the charitable gesture, and added that it is "really big and so important" during what has been a truly challenging time for the entire music industry.
