Metallica played a cover of Alice In Chains' "Would?" during an all-star livestreamed event held by Seattle's Museum of Pop Culture in honor of the Seattle band on Tuesday (December 1).

The event followed the Museum of Pop Culture bestowing the Founders Award upon Alice In Chains this year.

Metallica's performance, which was mostly an acoustic version of the Dirt classic, came towards the end of the event. Their version featured stirring vocals from James Hetfield and a guitar solo from Kirk Hammett.

The concert started with a performance of "Your Decision" by the current members of Alice In Chains. Overall, the event saw as many as 24 musicians paying tribute, playing songs from the Seattle band's catalog.

After the performance, Hetfield congratulated Alice in Chains on bagging the Founders Award.

"We're glad to be a part of your journey and life, and really cool to have gotten to know all of you guys and to tour with you guys, and play music with you guys. You are much appreciated and thank you for continuing on playing music, and offering some inspiration for the new musicians of the world," he said.
