Neil Young announced through his website on Sunday (January 31) that he will finally release his Johnny's Island album sometime soon via Neil Young Archives.

Johnny's Island was recorded in 1982 at Commercial Recorders in Honolulu, Hawaii. The album was once called "Island In The Sun" and was made in collaboration with the same crew on his 12th studio album Trans, which was released in December 1982.

Some of the songs made at the time, such as "Like An Inca," "Hold On To Your Love," and "Little Thing Called Love," ended up on Trans.

Young described the work as a "complete album" that features unreleased tracks like "Big Pearl," "Island in the Sun" and "Love Hotel," along with other songs fans "may have heard before."

"It's a beautiful record coming to you soon," Young wrote on his website. He has not specified a release date.
