A day after winning two Grammy Awards, H.E.R. received a 2021 Oscar nomination for "Fight for You" in the Best Original Song category.

H.E.R. did the music and wrote the lyrics for the song from the Warner Bros. Pictures' film Judas and the Black Messiah in collaboration with Dernst Emile II and Tiara Thomas.

Responding to the Academy Awards nomination news, the R&B artist said, "I couldn't believe it. You know, I feel like I'm part of history, I'm making history, and I'm doing what I love. So, it's all really a blessing."

"To be spreading such an important message, and hopefully, leading this generation into some changes, I pray that's what I'm doing," she told Deadline.

On Sunday, "I Can't Breathe," a song by H.E.R. that quotes the last words of George Floyd, won the Grammy Award for Song of the Year.

H.E.R., whose real name is Gabriella Wilson, also won the Grammy award for Best R&B Song for "Better Than I Imagine."
