Chipotle Mexican Grill (CMG), teaming up with Stefan Thomas, the Founder and CEO of Coil, is launching today an interactive game called "Burritos or Bitcoin" to celebrate National Burrito Day on April 1, Chipotle said in a release.
The contest goes live at 9.00 AM today at BURRITOSORBITCOIN.COM. and closes at 6.00 PM, where Chipotle will hand out $100,000 in free burritos and $100,000 in Bitcoin.
"National Burrito Day is a huge moment for Chipotle as our fans traditionally flock to our restaurants and digital platforms to order their favorites," said Chris Brandt, Chief Marketing Officer. "
The game goes like this: Each player, who is 18 years of age or older, stands a chance to win a burrito or $25,000 in Bitcoin, if the gamer could guess a valid 6 digit code in 10 trials. For persons who did not succeed also, Chipotle has some surprises in store, it said.
According to Chipotle, no purchase is required to be eligible for the contest, where 10,000 players will win 1 free burrito, 50 fans will win $500 in Bitcoin, and 3 fans will win $25,000 in Bitcoin.
Chipotle claims to be the first US restaurant to introduce cryptocurrency giveaway.
