Shares of Meta Materials Inc. (MMAT) are up more than 8% Tuesday morning after the company announced the completion of its glucose sensing prototype.
"The developed biosensing prototype is a critical step towards a "Home Hub" system targeted at monitoring biological parameters," Meta Materials said.
The system, in a laboratory environment, showed improvement in accuracy in predicting glucose level changes, compared to using standalone sensors.
The U.K-funded non-invasive glucose sensing system combines radio wave and optical sensors to improve accuracy in predicting glucose level changes.
MMAT, currently at $7.28, has been trading in the range of $0.42- $21.76 in the last one year.
