Dionne Warwick has slammed Jeff Bezos for thanking Amazon employees and customers for paying for his space flight earlier this week.

The executive chairman of Amazon, along with three other crew members, made his inaugural trip to suborbital space in his own aerospace manufacturing company Blue Origin's New Shephard rocket on Tuesday.

At a press conference on his return to earth on the same day, Bezos said, "I also want to thank every Amazon employee and every Amazon customer because you guys paid for all of this."

In protest against his comment, Warwick wrote on Twitter, "Why did he make a truly dumb statement like this? I don't get what he expected from those employed at Amazon! I know it couldn't have been a YAY!! Shame on you, Mr. Bezos."

She added the clown emoji to her tweet and reproduced Bezos' relevant quote from the news conference.
