Excluding items, Amdocs Ltd reported adjusted earnings of $173.3 million or $1.35 per share for the period.
Analysts had expected the company to earn $1.18 per share, according to figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
The company's revenue for the quarter rose 8.9% to $1.1 billion from $1.01 billion last year.
