Adrienne Warren and the cast of TINA performed one of Tina Turner's greatest hits, "Private Dancer," during "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" on Tuesday (September 14).
TINA - The Tina Turner Musical, written by Tony Award nominee and Pulitzer Prize winner Katori Hall with Frank Ketelaar and Kees Prins, and directed by Phyllida Lloyd, is set to resume performances at Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre beginning October 8, 2021.
The musical, based on the life of Tina Turner, is described as "a celebration of resilience and an inspiration of triumph over adversity."
Warren will depart the production on Sunday, October 31, 2021, due to other commitments. Nkeiki Obi-Melekwe, who played Tina in the West End production and plays as the Tina alternate at some performances in the Broadway production, will take over the title role beginning November 2, 2021.
