Nasdaq Reaches New Record High But Dow Sees Further Downside

After ending the previous session on opposite sides of the unchanged line, the major U.S. stock indexes are turning in another mixed performance in morning trading on Friday. While the Nasdaq has risen to a new record intraday high, the Dow is moving lower for the third straight session.

Currently, the Nasdaq is off its best levels of the day but still up 70.18 points or 0.4 percent at 16,063.90. Meanwhile, the Dow is down 257.92 points or 0.7 percent at 35,613.03 and the S&P 500 is down 4.76 points or 0.1 percent at 4,699.78.
