Taylor Swift recently released "All Too Well (Sad Girl Autumn Version)," just a few days after delivering an emotional 10-minute version of "All Too Well" on "Saturday Night Live."
"One of the saddest songs I've ever written just got sadder. Drove up to Long Pond Studios to record 'All Too Well (Sad Girl Autumn Version)' with the besties," Swift tweeted, tagging frequent collaborators Aaron Dessner and Jonathan Low.
The new version sees Dessner, who played a key role in the creation of both Folklore and Evermore, playing the piano.
"I had never played 'All Too Well' but I've listened to it so many times it must have been seared into my musical memory," Dessner said of the song in a post on Instagram.
"Somehow this Sad Girl Autumn Version felt like it was already in the brisk air," he added. "It felt so good to play it on the creaky 'Cardigan' piano and Taylor's performance is devastatingly beautiful."
Swift recorded the new version "All Too Well (10 Minute Version)" in Dessner's Long Pond Studios in upstate New York, where she filmed her Disney+ documentary Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions last year.
