For the fifth straight year, a male artist is Billboard's Top Artist of the Year. It's Drake in 2021.

The 35-year-old hip-hop superstar receives the honor for the second time; the first was in 2018.

Drake's sixth studio album Certified Lover Boy debuted atop the Billboard 200 on the chart dated September 18, 2021.

Certified Lover Boy achieved the all-time record for the most top-ten singles from one album, with its lead single, "Way 2 Sexy," arriving atop the Billboard Hot 100 and marking Drake's ninth No. 1 single. The album was nominated for Best Rap Album at the 2022 Grammy Awards.

Billboard's year-end music recaps represent aggregated metrics for each artist, title, label and music contributor on the weekly charts between November 21, 2020, and November 13, 2021.

During the chart year, the Canadian rapper's eight albums were ranked in the Billboard 200 chart.
