Volvo Trucks Corporation, a unit of Volvo AB (VOLVY.PK), said on Wednesday that it received an order for additional 25 heavy electric trucks from DFDS, a Danish shipping and logistics company.

The orders for the new vehicles are apart from order for 100 Volvo FM electric trucks that was made in October, adding up to a total of 125 electric trucks for DFDS, the Swedish truck maker said in a statement.

The delivery of the trucks is expected to commence in the last quarter of 2022. The new trucks will be used for transports in the DFDS logistics system in Europe.

A Volvo FM Electric truck can move up to 500 km during a workday, with a fast top-up charge.

The Volvo FM Electric has a gross combination weight of up to 44 tons and can be charged both overnight at the home-depot and via high power fast charging on route, Volvo said in a statement elaborating the specifications of the vehicles.
