Thursday, Enova Systems Inc. (ENA), a North American hybrid supplier, revealed collaboration with Asia-based Truck OEM to integrate and test its unique proprietary Post Transmission Parallel Hybrid system.

Torrance, California-based company noted that it is targeting to incorporate and/or retrofit the Post Transmission Parallel Hybrid System into North American delivered 2008 model year vehicles.

The system, which is ideal for the production of new vehicles as well as the retrofit market for existing vehicles, is one in which the Electric Drive System is integrated behind the Transmission. The system is designed to be installed as a drop in,' fully integrated turnkey fashion into an OEM production line, or retrofitted in post vehicle production in a modular, as-needed' basis.

Commenting on the partnership, Enova's Executive Vice President, Mike Staran, said, "We are excited about the possibility to be the first North American Hybrid Drive System to be used by an Asia based Medium Truck OEM. Having already established relationships with First Auto Works (FAW), Tomoe and Hyundai, we are steadily making significant progress in Asia. These trucks are used in a wide range of applications including delivery and transport vehicles.

ENA closed Wednesday's regular trading session at $6.91, up $0.91 or 15.17%, on a volume of 20K shares.
