Essentra Turns To Profit In FY21; Raises Dividend

Essentra Plc, a provider of essential components and solutions, reported Friday that its fiscal 2021 pre-tax profit was 33 million pounds, compared to loss of 4 million pounds a year ago.

Basic earnings per share were 8.9 pence, compared to last year's loss of 1.2 pence.

Adjusted pre-tax profit was 67 million pounds, compared to 47 million pounds a year ago. Adjusted basic earnings per share were 18.2 pence, compared to 13.2 pence a year ago.

Revenue grew 7 percent to 960 million pounds from 897 million pounds last year. Revenue increased 8.4% on a like-for-like basis.

Further, the Board has recommended a final dividend of 4.0p per share, making a total dividend distribution for the year of 6.0p, up from 3.3p last year.

Looking ahead, the company said, "Whilst the external environment remains challenging due to global supply chain disruptions and continued impact of cost inflation, the Group has demonstrated its ability to manage these challenges in the past, and will continue to implement pricing actions alongside local cost mitigation activities."
